Catharine Harris Running for Senate

Tue Jun 07, 2005 at 07:53:42 PM PDT

As disgusting as it sounds, the women who helped George Bush steal the 2000 election just announced her candidacy for the United States Senate.  As someone who has shown a lack of concern for even the validity of elections, we must make sure that she never is elected.  If she is, you can expect all your tin-foil-hat, theories about Diabold to come eerily true.  To demonstrate the danger posed by Harris, let me show you come facts about Harris regarding the 2000 election, courtesy of Democrats.com:

Flood the "Greatest" American Poll

Sun Jun 05, 2005 at 08:00:35 PM PDT

The good folks at the discovery channel have started the 100 Greatest American contest.  Out of the 100, we can only vote on the top 25.  For some rediculous reason, George W. Bush was put in the top 25 meaning if freepers have their war, he could be number one.  I encourage all to go to www.aol.com/greatestamerican and vote for someone worthwhile.  You can vote three times for the next three weeks.  Let's flood this poll people!

Remember that TV show where some guy got tomorrow's newspaper today, and he would have to run around to prevent tomorrow's tragedies from occurring?  Well I think I have found the online version.  Take a look at this.  It's long but very good.

Frist Played McCain

Tue May 24, 2005 at 09:17:55 PM PDT

I've been watching as much of the Filibuster coverage as I can, and I've come to the conclusion that Frist WANTED this deal.  I know it sounds crazy, but Frist is one of the smartest politicians in America, and he and the GOP simply do not loses like this.

Condi for.....NFL Commissioner???

Tue May 17, 2005 at 04:06:22 PM PDT

The current Secretary of State Condi Rice, has expressed "serious interest" in becoming the Commissioner of the National Football League, after George Bush's term ends in 2008.  Rice describes her self as an "NFL Fanatic" who's dream job would be as commissioner.  Ironically, the other black republican, Clarence Thomas, has also expressed interest in the same job.  The problem with this, of course, is that as Supreme Court Justice, Thomas has a lifetime appointment.

Welcome to Berlin

Fri May 13, 2005 at 09:17:38 PM PDT

Orwell, Lewis, and Bradbury warned us about it, and we ignored them.  The ACLU tried to stop it, and we laughed at them.  Now we are facing it, and we don't know what to do.  Four days ago, several Oklahoma State lawmakers are vowing to kill a bill that would increase funding for public libraries, unless those libraries banned books that were "homosexual in theme."  This comes on the heels of a bill that was passed several days ago forcing all Oklahoma libraries to place books that are "homosexual in theme" in the adults only section.

A Teen's PAC

Mon May 09, 2005 at 04:09:45 PM PDT

Although I was not old enough to vote, I volunteered countless hours, wrote countless letters, and made dozens of phone calls for the Kerry campaign and my local Democratic Party.  On Nov. 2, I was crushed by Kerry's defeat and by the rejection of so many of our senate candidates, but despite the loss, I felt encouraged.  Even in the conservative atmosphere of my hometown, Yorba Linda, CA (Richard Nixon's birthplace), I could sense that people agreed with democrats on numerous issues and only voted republican because society said it was the "American," and "Christian" thing to do.

A Fifteen Year Old's PAC

Sat Apr 23, 2005 at 10:22:30 AM PDT

Although I am not old enough to vote, I am seriously thinking about starting my own PAC.  I got the idea from the recent DFA campaign, in which, people submitted their ideas for an anti-DeLay billboard that would be put up in his home district.  I believe that, "Billboards for America" (tentative name) could utilize the power of the blogs, and generate large amounts of money, and buy numerous billboards, which are relativity cheap.  Doing this could raise name ID for democrats in key senate, house, and gubernatorial races, and would also educate the public about the corruption and dishonesty of republicans, for a much lower cost than TV or radio advertisements.  Although, it seems easy, I need your help to make it happen.  If anyone has any information on how to purchase billboards, file the proper paperwork in order to form a PAC, and a good way to raise money online, please post.  Thanks for all your help.

A Letter from Bob Casey Jr. (Well not Really)

Thu Apr 21, 2005 at 08:22:44 AM PDT

I know many people on this blog are Pennacchio supporters, which is perfectly fine, but I feel that many bloggers have given fellow democrat, Bob Casey Jr., a bad wrap, which is not.  Today, I received a letter from the Casey campaign, and I felt that it would be appropriate to post it.  I know I probably won't change any minds, but I think it is important to remember that we are all democrats here, and turning against eachother is only going to play into Santorum, and Rove's hands.

Vote for PAC for a Change's Next Contribution

Mon Apr 18, 2005 at 04:12:05 PM PDT

Barbara Boxer's PAC, PAC for a Change, is asking democrats which incumbent, should receive a ten thousand dollar contribution towards their 2006 reelection campaign. What started out as a seemingly good idea has, I fear, turned into a possible waste of funds.  Sen Debbie Stabenow, who is probably the safest democrat on the list if leading with 45%, while the most endangered, Bill Nelson, has only 29%.  With no disrespect toward Stabenow, and the other candidates, Nelson is clearly the most endangered democrat in the senate.  While candidates like BEN Nelson, and Stebenow, have had many potential opponents bow out, while Bill Nelson has numerous possibile challengers, including, Kathrine Harris.  Please go here: http://ga4.org/boxer2004/aprilvote.html?member_key=d7e8s32257x5nw to vote for Bill Nelson, and help this honorable man stay in the senate.

Bob Casey Jr. on the Issues

Sat Mar 26, 2005 at 07:36:36 PM PDT

The Pennsylvania senate race will no doubt be one of the closest in the country, in 2006, and both sides will pour resources into it like there's no tomorrow.  However, the bloggers at DailyKos (and other blogs) have raised serious and legitimist questions about stances of democratic candidate Bob Casey Jr.  I am here to answer these questions and clear any doubt that may exist about Casey and his stances on the issues that will define his candidacy and the direction of Pennsylvania and the country.

Dating...HANNNITY STYLE

Fri Feb 25, 2005 at 04:25:50 PM PDT

If anyone dares to brave the insane, biggoted views of Fuherer Hannity's website, you will find a new page devoted to dating.  It includes over 120 people from around the country, ages 20 to 73, who are all looking for a fellow nazi to snuggle with (ironically enough, not one of them is a person of color).  It absolutley hysterical to look at some of these poor saps.  You can't help but feel sorry for them.  Anyway, if anyone wants to create a profile of someone who is a black, Muslim, gay-rights activist, who lives in San Francisco, just to piss off the right-wing nuts, go to

What Should Dean's First Priority Be?

Sun Feb 06, 2005 at 01:07:45 PM PDT

With Howard Dean locking up the DNC Chairman's race (knock on wood) we now must focus on the best way to move the Democratic Party back into the majority not just in the House and the Senate, but in every state house and city council in America.  To do this, we must act today with more energy and fervor than ever before.  The only question is, "How do we it?" Over the course of the Chairman's race we were presented with several options and by the 2006 elections we will probably be able to implement most if not all of them.  However, what we do first will set the tempo of the pre-campaign and lay the groundwork for the next elections.  Sooooo...if you were Howard Dean, what would your first priority be?

Henry for America?

Mon Jan 31, 2005 at 08:45:27 PM PDT

I know many of you have no idea what I am talking about, but I really think this guy has a shot.  His name is Brad Henry, Governor of Oklahoma.  Henry has been govenor since 2002, by just 7,000 votes, and has enjoyed a strong approval rating, despite the redness of OK.  While Henry is somewhat convservative, he is a STRONG advocate for public education and for affordable health care.  And as for abortion (I saw how you guys went crazy over Bob Casey Jr.) Henry feels that abortion should be a last opition but that Roe vs. Wade should not be overturned.  On a more personal note, Henry is just 41 years old, despite spending almost twenty years in politics.  Henry also teachers Sunday school with his wife and is a former minister.

So anyone saying Henry for America?

Brainstorm Boycott Idea

Mon Jan 17, 2005 at 01:20:57 PM PDT

I've somewhat been known for coming up with crazy ideas, but I really think this one could work.  What if once a week, Kos had a company from BuyBlue.com for all the bloggers to boycott for that week?  This way, we wouldn't be totally overwhelmed with boycotting GOP run corporations, and we still could make an impact.  Maybe we could also give alternatives so that people would be boycotting red companies and buying blue companies.  Tell me if anyone is willing to go with this idea.  I really think this has potential.

Idea for Primaries

Sun Jan 09, 2005 at 12:51:07 PM PDT

What if after Iowa and New Hampshire, the primaries would start of with several swing states, then move the large red states, and then the solid blue states.  This way states like Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania would get more power in choosing the nominee, and in those states, the candidate would have higher name recognition come the general.  After that states like Virginia, Lousianna, and Texas would go, and thus would be able to provide fair amount of infulence in picking the nominee, and would recieve attention by the candidates.  The blue states and the super-conservative small red states would come last due to the fact that the require the last attention in the general.

Sound Good?  Oh please take this poll

Help Me Get Into Politics

Sat Dec 25, 2004 at 11:20:09 PM PDT

I'm fifteen years old, and all I know is politics.  I know every US Senator, about 3/4ths of the house, almost every governor, and every democratic candidate for senate from the '04 races.  My life revolves around house, senate, gubernatorial, and presidential races, from '04-'10.  I made a website back in 2003 devoted to spreading John Kerry's message and increasing his name ID (If you want to check it out its www.kerry4pres.com).  I know that my only career prospects are going to be in politics but I have no clue how I am going to do it.  I know I want to be involved in the inner workers of a campaign or involved with recruitment for the DSCC, or DCCC.  If anyone has any ideas about what I need to do to get into these fields feel free to post.
